K8BKB_Shackshot.JPG

Introducing "Shack Shot" - photos of your shack and equipment on line for your friends and contacts to see.

Today we visit Gary K8BKB, who has two HF  stations in Sun City. He has this restored COLLINS station, his pride and joy.. His  other station is based on the FLEX radio (all computerized radio) GARY has been licensed for over 60 years, and his stations(s) reflect both ends of his radio timeline! Gary finds time to share his knowledge by teaching classes at WVHS many weekdays.

We will feature a new SHACK photo 3 times a month, or so.

Send us your shack photo to be included!

You're invited to an event at the Shack  Noon Monday Dec. 8th:

                 DX QSL card sort

We have thousands of paper DX QSL cards from across the years that need sorting by country. Come join us in an opportunity to chat with fellow hams and sort cards. RSVP (email: WestValleyHamShack@gmail.com) so we know approxately how many "sorters" we'll be hosting. As a bonus: Partifipants can select a QSL card to take home!

We expect this to be a 2 hour event, depending on turnout

November 2025 Presidents message

Pres Fred.JPG

WOW! What a great event we had on Oct. 18th. Everyone I saw had a big smile on their face for the great deals we had in our store and outside tables.

Every Tailgater I spoke with was happy with their sales plus the weather was spectacular!

I cannot thank all the Directors and volunteers enough  for their help in making this event one of our best ever.

At the stroke of noon we selected our lucky raffle winners, and I made the call to inform them - they were really excited,

The winners:

Hallicrafter S-38 went to Bob Schneider AJ9Y, and

The Trans Oceanic went to David Brown KG7GTF.

David also passed his Amateur General exam at the test session that followed our parking lot sale.

November brings the start of the official Holiday Season and I want to thank all of you for supporting our facility and making this a friendly and safe facility to be with friends whether working on projects, attending a class, using our radio room, touring the museum or just hanging out.

I want to wish you and your families a ery Happy Thanksgiving.

We will be closed Thursday November 27th for the holioday and back open at our normal hours 12 pm - 4 pm.

Stay safe, healthy, humble and kind.

73,

Fred K7WFP
