World Amateur Radio Day Open House
April 18, 2026 9am-1pm
Join us at the West Valley Ham Shack for a special World Amateur Radio Day Open House on Saturday, April 18 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Whether you’re an active ham, a former operator, or simply curious about radio and electronics, this is a great opportunity to visit the shack, see live radio demonstrations, explore vintage equipment, and learn how amateur radio has evolved into the digital age.
"Shack Shot" feature photos

Introducing "Shack Shot" - photos of your shack and equipment on line for your friends and contacts to see.

Welcome to Steve Hotvedt, K7SCW.
He has recently renewed his interest in the hobby he relished decades ago.
Steve has found the FT8 mode a refreshing way to extend his stations reach to DX, without needing to install a humongous antenna array. (He lives in an HOA) Steve has a background in Broadcasting, and lends his expertise as a volunteer station manager at Sun City West's KSCW low power FM station

Send us an email expressing your willingness, and we will dispatch a photographer. You may use the photo yourself for a vanity QSL card, calendar, etc.

The 'Shack' is an easy club to join, and it absolutely expands your enjoyment of your membership in other clubs. We complement one another, never a competition!
